Anthem, Arizona
Anthem is a master-planned community located approximately 30 miles north of downtown Phoenix in Maricopa County, Arizona. Developed by Del Webb, it’s known for its family-friendly atmosphere, numerous amenities, and scenic desert surroundings.
Population: As of the 2020 census, Anthem had a population of 23,190. Recent estimates from 2023 suggest a population of around 22,622.
Climate/Landscape: Anthem is nestled at the base of Daisy Mountain within the Sonoran Desert, offering a picturesque landscape with desert vegetation and mountain views.
- Climate: Anthem experiences a hot desert climate similar to the rest of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Summers are extremely hot, with average highs in July often exceeding 100°F (38°C) and sometimes reaching 107°F (42°C). Winters are mild and pleasant, with average highs in the mid-60s to 70s°F (18-25°C) and lows around 41-45°F (5-7°C). The area receives an average of about 11-12 inches of rainfall annually, with the monsoon season from mid-June to September bringing occasional heavy thunderstorms.
- Landscape: The community is designed to integrate with the desert environment, featuring native flora like saguaros and other cacti. There are also many well-maintained green spaces, parks, and walking trails within the community. Daisy Mountain and Gavilan Peak provide dramatic backdrops, and a significant portion of the community is dedicated to open space, offering expansive desert views.
